CultureGrams

What are Flagstaff teachers saying about CultureGrams:

"Are your students studying a certain country and culture? Try this outstanding resource. I enjoyed the video on making a Spanish Tortilla and several videos and slide shows at a click of a button about festivals in Peru, Colombia, Costa Rica, etc. These videos are truly authentic!

Check out the description of people's lives. Click on the Interviews tab and read about people's everyday routine. What time do they actually get up in Cambodia? What does a school in Nepal look like? Sahara Desert, Machu Pichu, the Egyptian pyramids...all a click away! Studying the USA? Then go to that section to hear any state's bird song, recipes, climate, etc., etc. AMAZING possibilities....simply endless."

--Vilma Montealegre, Spanish Department, FSA

CultureGrams helps you discover the world with concise cultural and statistical snapshots of every country recognized by the United Nations -- from Afghanistan to Zimbabwe. Local experts document the unique, intimate details of each country's customs, traditions and daily life. And whether it's Iraq, Canada, or Kenya, each CultureGram offers an equality of coverage detailing 25 different aspects of the country and its culture.

CultureGrams now features regional maps from National Geographic for every country! View a country and its neighbors on these highly detailed and authoritative maps, accessible from the map drop-down menu on each country landing page. CultureGrams also offers detailed physical and political maps, simple maps, and outline maps. Pick the one that best suits your needs and explore a country today!

Facts on File: American History Online & Ancient and Medieval History

What are Flagstaff teachers saying about Facts on File:

"Facts on File is an excellent resource! My students loved using this database for their research project on famous Coloradans, and I loved that they were finding credible, targeted sources of information that they could read and understand, unlike websites found using search engines."

--Mrs. Jaclyn Adley, 5th grade teacher, FSA
